Bunker busters are special types of bombs that can destroy targets deep in the ground or under protected concrete - where ordinary bombs don't work.
The most powerful US version is the GBU-57 which weighs 30,000 pounds (about 13,607 kg). Named the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), this powerful bunker-piercing bomb can blast continuously through 200 feet (61 m) of rock or concrete. It can only be fired by B-2 bombers and two can be carried by each aircraft.
Israel also uses US-made GBU-28 and BLU-109 bunker busters, which can be launched from F-15 fighter jets. However, these bombs are not very effective against very deep bunkers.
