Kash Patel is the new head of the FBI

Newly elected US President Donald Trump has chosen Kash Patel of Indian origin as the head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the central intelligence agency of the United States. He will join that position after Trump takes office as president next January.

The BBC reported that Kash Patel previously worked as a lawyer and counsel for the United States federal government. In 2023, he published an investigative book called 'Government Gangsters', which Trump enthusiastically praised.

Saturday (November 30), Trump said he wants to appoint former national security officer Kashyap Pramod 'Kash' Patel (44) as FBI chief. Through this announcement, Trump indicated that he would fire the current FBI chief, Christopher Wray.

Notably, Donald Trump won the US presidential election held on November 5. Trump will be sworn in as president on January 20 next year even if he wins the election held in November. But before that he will organize his own administration.
